Max Amperage: The 500A output means the machine can generate enough heat to weld very thick metal plates, often in the range of ³$1/2″$ (12mm) up to ⁴$5/8″$ (16mm) or more, frequently used in structural steel, heavy fabrication, shipbuilding, and large-scale construction projects.⁵

Welding Process: At this power level, the machine is usually a multi-process unit capable of:⁶

• MIG (GMAW): Often used for high-speed, continuous welds on heavy components.
